Blog 2 - Healthcare System

Hello reader, in this blog I will talk about the Chilean health system and what is my point of view before this system.

In Chile there is the public sector and the private sector, both of which have great differences and are very segregating in Chilean society. Here I will explain the great differences between these two services.

In private service, health care is a privilege that few can access due to the high cost of money that this influences. The care is fast and quality, your workers are almost always excellent professionals and you can always count on a private space between you and your doctor.

The vast majority of public services tend to be of lower cost, but their attention leaves much to be desired. Their care is not fast and sometimes people die waiting for a call for medical attention. The public health system is collapsed because many people do not have the money to treat their urgency.

I think the differences between these public-private services is notorious, people know it and the government knows it, so it should be a top issue for the government. It can’t be that people die waiting for an hour to see a doctor, which if they had enough income to pay for a clinic might not happen. The state should invest much more in our health systems, just as we invest in many other material things that are not of vital importance.

  1. Hii, I agree when you say that the people and the government are aware of the precariousness of the system, and it is unfair that even so they have not changed much.

  3. Hi Cristian, I think the government should at least make private health a little more accessible for more critical cases. But sadly everything is a business.

  4. Great blog! I like that you mentioned how the government is completely aware of how the medicine system works, and the issues in it, and still doesn't do anything about it. The government should prioritize problems like this that affect the majority of chileans.
