Voting is a privilege that our ancestors did not enjoy, their opinion was not important for reasons such as being a woman, a person of few resources or a foreigner. In Chile, for example, the blind had voted since 1969, women since 1949 and illiterates since 1972. All these factors were influencing and building a better country. It should be noted that our country underwent a dictatorship from 11 September 1973 to 11 March 1990, which lasted 17 years under a dictatorial regime characterized by human rights violations.
This is why it was always the same politicians in charge, given that very few people voted. It should be emphasized that the political classes are inoperative and leave few options for electing representatives. That is why voting is very important to prevent these nefarious characters from coming to power, whose only goals is to harm the country and self-interest.
Voting was a privilege that not everyone had available, but now we have the freedom that anyone can assert their vote at the ballot box, as long as they are of age. Voting is a legacy that we must defend and use wisely, trying to maintain a healthy and healthy relationship with our community.

I really liked your point about how nefarious politicians are, I also believe that one of the main reasons to vote is precisely that these people dont have the power.
ResponderEliminarHello, I agree with your position and thoughts regarding suffrage, especially with the point that we must continue to maintain the vote as part of our legacy, and the inoperative political classes.
ResponderEliminarHi Cristian! I think it’s interesting what you published about the history of people’s right to vote in Chile. I also think that being able to vote is a privilege, and we should use it wisely.
